Chatham Short Track Super Series Cajun Region Event Postponed to July 24

CHATHAM, LA – Weeklong rain and continued precipitation forecasted for Saturday has forced the postponement of Saturday’s Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco ‘Cajun Region’ event planned for Chatham Speedway.

Promoter Jerry Hobson has elected to utilize next Saturday (July 24) as the rain date for the fifth round of the Day Motor Sports point series for the STSS Modifieds.

The STSS Cajun Region contingent will now finish out the month of July with back-to-back events. The Chatham July 24 event is followed by a return to Derek Perkins’ Thunder Valley Speedway in Glenmora, La., on July 31.

Caleb Dillard leads the championship standings by 15 points over Tommy Rascoe entering Chatham (380-365). Greg Dillard (340), Cody Robbins (320) and Thomas Holt (293) round out the top-five.

In four events contested this season, there have been four different winners: Cody Robbins at Chatham April 3, Tommy Rascoe at Thunder Valley April 24, Caleb Dillard at Chatham May 29 and Shane Hebert at Ark-La-Tek Speedway in Vivian, La., June 26.
